ABOUT US

We’re a robotics startup building an agnostic orchestration platform that allows companies to manage, monitor, and control multiple robots and robotic systems from a single interface. We’re also developing custom Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models that enable natural-language reasoning and autonomy across diverse robot types and industries. Our mission is to make robotics more accessible, intelligent, and scalable across sectors from hospitality and healthcare to defense and sports facility management. Think of it as an operating system for any robot, with an expanding library of intelligent capabilities. We are self-funded and currently building the v1 platform with our first pilot partners in the energy, hospitality and sports sectors.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The most senior individual contributor in the AI organisation. You own the architecture of the VLA, video, vision and spatial model stack — the AI layer that enables natural-language reasoning and autonomy across the platform. Not publicly advertised; open to referral and silent sourcing only.

TECH STACK

  • PyTorch
  • VLA / LLMs
  • CUDA / multi-GPU
  • MLOps

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Own end-to-end architecture of the VLA, video-prediction and spatial model stack — the AI that powers natural-language control and autonomy across robot types
  • Set the AI research agenda: what to build next, what not to build, and engagement with frontier literature
  • Own the data flywheel strategy: how demonstration data turns into improved VLA policies
  • Mentor and raise the technical bar for the AI engineering team
  • Partner with Robotics to close the training-deployment-iteration loop on real hardware

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 8+ years ML/AI with production large-model delivery or strong publication record (CVPR / CoRL / NeurIPS / RSS)
  • Expert PyTorch and large-scale multi-GPU training
  • Technical leadership experience: setting direction for a team under genuine ambiguity
  • Depth in VLA models, video models or large vision models
  • Track record of taking ideas from research to production systems
Nice to have
  • Robot learning, imitation learning or RL background
  • Sim-to-real data augmentation and domain randomisation experience

WHY JOIN US

  • This is a rare opportunity to help design and build the foundational technology for a robotics platform from the ground up
  • Competitive salary
  • Relocation support and housing assistance for Madeira-based roles; CINM free-zone benefits
  • Small, senior, hands-on team — everyone owns a meaningful slice of the product from day one
  • Full research agenda ownership on a novel multi-robot, multi-industry VLA platform
