ABOUT US

We’re a robotics startup building an agnostic orchestration platform that allows companies to manage, monitor, and control multiple robots and robotic systems from a single interface. We’re also developing custom Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models that enable natural-language reasoning and autonomy across diverse robot types and industries. Our mission is to make robotics more accessible, intelligent, and scalable across sectors from hospitality and healthcare to defense and sports facility management. Think of it as an operating system for any robot, with an expanding library of intelligent capabilities. We are self-funded and currently building the v1 platform with our first pilot partners in the energy, hospitality and sports sectors.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Set the technical direction for the teleoperation stack. The system that lets humans operate, demonstrate and supervise robots across the platform, and feeds the data flywheel that trains increasingly autonomous VLA behaviour. You own the architecture, build the team and partner with AI to turn every demonstration into training signal.

TECH STACK

  • VR / XR SDKs
  • ROS 2
  • C++ / Python
  • WebRTC / low-latency

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Own the architecture of the teleoperation platform across VR and other formats (Pico, Meta Quest, LeRobot and successors)
  • Set technical direction for motion retargeting — mapping human hand and arm pose to diverse robot embodiments in real time
  • Build and lead the teleoperation engineering team; own framework selection and build-vs-buy decisions
  • Partner with AI to design data capture pipelines that turn teleop demonstrations into high-quality imitation learning data for VLA training
  • Define safety, governance and audit-log requirements across the platform including for defence-vertical deployments

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 8+ years robotics, teleoperation or human-robot interaction engineering
  • Deep hands-on experience with VR teleop hardware (Pico, Meta Quest, LeRobot-style systems) — not integrator-level
  • Strong background in dexterous hand control and motion retargeting: mathematics and practical failure modes
  • Track record of building retargeting frameworks and leading a technical team
  • Ability to reason about latency, packet loss and real-time guarantees at the systems level
Nice to have
  • Multi-robot supervision system design (1:N operator-to-robot)
  • Imitation learning or demonstration data pipeline experience

WHY JOIN US

  • This is a rare opportunity to help design and build the foundational technology for a robotics platform from the ground up
  • Competitive salary
  • Relocation support and housing assistance for Madeira-based roles; CINM free-zone benefits
  • Small, senior, hands-on team — everyone owns a meaningful slice of the product from day one
  • Technical leadership of a greenfield platform across multiple robot types and industries
